Our New Ice Age

I am writing a new book that will intersperse a narrative of my experience as the lone humanist aboard a climate change-focused Northwest Passage expedition led by scientists for STEM students (summer 2018), with a scholarly and critical meditation on ice as a measure for visualizing, writing about, conceptualizing, and mourning the state of the climate and the state of the humanities in a moment of ecological and institutional crisis. One premise of my book is that our present planetary moment demands new modes of knowledge.
